DebEX Barebone is an open source Linux project based and inspired by the popular Debian GNU/Linux distribution. It has been engineered to be deployed only on 64-bit compatible hardware. It's also the first GNU/Linux distribution to bring the GNOME 3.14 desktop environment and Linux kernel 3.19.0, though the KDE edition uses KDE 4.14.3.

It is distributed in three editions, one with the Xfce desktop environment, one with the KDE Plasma, and another one with the GNOME and MATE desktops, as Live DVD ISO-hybrid images, based on the Jessie and Sid versions of the Debian operating system, and designed to support only the 64-bit architecture.
