 (formerly Ubuntu Ultimate Edition) is an open source distribution of Linux based on the world's most popular free operating system, Ubuntu. It is built around the MATE desktop environment (a clone of GNOME 2) and comes with a plethora of pre-installed applications and utilities.

As its name suggests, it is designed from the ground up to provide users with a large collection of applications, themes, icons, backgrounds, out-of-the-box support for multimedia files, and any other program requested by the community.

The project’s main goal is to provide users with a comprehensive remix of Ubuntu (usually based on the latest stable release). It’s available for download as a Live DVD ISO image, supported only on the 64-bit hardware platform.

The boot prompt of the Live DVDs will allow users to start an existing operating system installed on the first disk, run a memory test, rescue a broken OS, as well as to install the operating system using regular, expert and command-line expert methods.
