Sabayon Linux SpinBase 15.04

https://www.sabayon.org/
Sabayon Linux SpinBase is an open source distribution of Linux based on the Gentoo operating system, specifically designed for Linux experts and advanced users who want to set up a home server or create their very own operating system, based on Sabayon.
Availability, boot options, supported architectures

Sabayon is usually distributed into multiple editions, with the GNOME, KDE, Xfce and Openbox desktop environments. It provides users with a new release each month and it's compatible only with the 64-bit hardware platform.

The SpinBase edition is available for download as two Live CD ISO-hybrid images, which can be written to USB flash drives using either GNOME Disks or UNetbootin, as well as burned onto CD discs using any CD/DVD burning software.

From the boot menu, you can start the live environment with default options or without boot splash (verbose mode), install the operating system to a local disk drive, check the disk for defects (only if using a CD media), boot an existing OS installed on the first disk, as well as to use the console, debug and safe modes.

In addition, users can press the F1 key to see a help screen, press F2 to change the language, choose a different keyboard layout by pressing the F3 key, and add extra boot parameters using the F5 key on their keyboards.

NEW • Development Release: OpenIndiana 2015.03 "Hipster"

OS Type: Solaris
Basado em: Solaris, OpenSolaris
Origem: United Kingdom
Architecture: i386, sparc, x86_64
Desktop: GNOME
Categoria: Desktop, Live Medium, UNIX

OpenIndiana is a continuation of the OpenSolaris operating system. It was conceived during the period of uncertainty following the Oracle takeover of Sun Microsystems, after several months passed with no binary updates made available to the public. The formation proved timely, as Oracle discontinued OpenSolaris soon after in favour of Solaris 11 Express, a binary distribution with a more closed development model to début later this year. OpenIndiana is part of the Illumos Foundation, and provides a true open-source community alternative to Solaris 11 and Solaris 11 Express, with an open development model and full community participation.

Sabayon Linux KDE 15.04Sabayon
https://forum.sabayon.org/

Linux KDE is a free and open source Linux distribution based on the Gentoo Linux operating system and built on a bleeding-edge, yet stable and reliable KDE desktop environment. Separate GNOME, Xfce, Openbox (Minimal) and SpinBase editions of Sabayon Linux are available for download on Softpedia.
Availability, supported architectures and boot options

This Sabayon edition is available for download as Live DVD ISO images or approximately 2GB in size, which makes it the biggest Sabayon flavor. It is fully compatible only with the 64-bit (amd64) hardware platform.

The boot menu is identical with the one of the Sabayon Linux GNOME edition, allowing users to try the operating system without installing anything on their computers using the default settings or the safe graphics mode, check the disc for defects (only if using a DVD media), and drop to a shell prompt.

Sabayon Linux Xfce 15.04
  https://www.sabayon.org/

Sabayon Linux Xfce is a freely distributed edition of the well known Sabayon Linux operating system that uses the lightweight Xfce desktop environment, as well as related open source packages and applications.
Availability, supported platforms and boot options

The distribution is available for download as Live CD ISO images. They can be written to USB flash drives or DVD discs, bootable directly from the BIOS of most PCs and laptops, but supported only on 64-bit architectures.

The default option and the recommended one, when booting the operating system from the Live CDs, is "Start Sabayon Xfce," which will automatically be executed If the user presses no key within 10 seconds.

The boot prompt is quite familiar, almost identical with the one found on some Ubuntu Linux operating systems. It allows users to directly install the operating system, without testing it, which is not recommended for novices.

In addition, it is also possible to run a memory diagnostic test, check the disc for defects (only if booting from a DVD media), drop to a shell prompt using default settings or the verbose mode (without boot splash), as well as to enter the safe or debug modes (for advanced users).

Neptune 4.3.1 Linux Distro Released to Fix an Installation Issue with EXT4 Partitions

Neptune 4.3http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/ZevenOS-Neptune-68541.shtmlOnly four days after announcing the release of Neptune 4.3 Linux operating system for computers, its developer published a new ISO image for the distribution, which has been updated to version 4.3.1, as users reported that they were unable to install the distribution on EXT4 partitions.

While the Live ISO image of Neptune 4.3 has been completely removed from the distribution's download server, users are urged to download the new Neptune 4.3.1 ISO image, which is here to fix an issue with unmountable EXT4 partitions that occurred when running in live mode.

“Due to a problem with the Neptune 4.3 ISO which lead to unmountable ext4 partitions in live mode we decided to upload a new ISO Version 4.3.1 which fixes this issue,” says the Neptune Linux developer in the short announcement. “This issue also caused not being able to install Neptune on a ext4 partition.”

Clonezilla LiveCD 2.4.0-2

Clonezilla LiveCD, popularly known as Clonezilla, is an open source (free) Linux distribution based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system. It provides a Live CD that contains all the necessary utilities and libraries for cloning the content of hard disk drives. The distribution offers a minimalistic, text-mode interface, specifically designed to load fast enough to help system administrators, and even regular users, with their hard disk cloning tasks.
http://www.clonezilla.org/
Supports many file systems
Clonezilla LiveCD supports the following file systems: Btrfs,  EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, ReiserFS, Reiser4, XFS, JFS, FAT12/16/32, NTFS, HFS+, UFS, minix, VMFS3 and VMFS5. In addition, both MBR (Master Boot Record) and GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition tables are supported by Clonezilla, which is distributed as Live CD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, and PAE (Physical Address Extension).

LVM2 is also supported

Unlike the G4U (Ghost for UNIX) or G4L (Ghost for Linux) projects, Clonezilla only uses blocks in hard disk drivers, which are saved and restored, increasing the efficiency of the entire cloning process. LVM2 is also supported, as well as unicast and multicast in the PXEBoot version, which is suitable for batch hard drive cloning tasks. Remote cloning of hard drives is also possible with the Clonezilla Live CD.

Distributed as Live CDs

GaryOS is an open source and freely distributed operating system based on the Gentoo and Funtoo Linux distributions and designed from the offset to provide users with a complete rescue system in a single binary file. It also borrows elements from the Grml Linux distribution.
Features at a glance

It features support for Microsoft Windows, GRUB and PXE (Preboot eXecution Environment) bootloaders, a Forensics mode that requires no disk drives or swap, has a small footprint, and doesn’t require a CD/DVD media to work (it can be deployed on a USB flash drive).
Distributed as bootable kernel files

Currently, GaryOS is distributed for free as bootable files with the .kernel extension, one for each of the supported hardware platforms, 32-bit and 64-bit. The binary files include initramfs and a Linux kernel, and have been generated using the Metro automated build tool with a a customized Gentoo/Funtoo configuration.
