Fedora MATE Compiz Live CD is an open source operating system, a special edition of the Fedora Linux distribution built around the traditional MATE desktop environment and using the Compiz-Fusion software for eye-candy desktop effects. It has been designed from the ground up to offer a classic desktop experience to nostalgic Linux users.
Availability, boot options and supported platforms

The distribution is available for download as two Live DVD ISO images, supporting both 64-bit (x86_64) and 32-bit (x86) hardware platforms. They can be deployed to USB flash drives of 1GB or higher capacity, as well as burned on blank DVD discs.

The boot prompt is identical with the ones found on other Fedora Live CDs. It is very minimalistic, allowing users to basically start the live environment with default settings. For more advanced options, you can access the Troubleshooting entry.
Traditional desktop environment with lightweight apps

As mentioned, MATE is in charge of the desktop environment in Fedora MATE Compiz Live CD. It provides users with a traditional graphical session that comprises of two panels, a top one for accessing the main menu and launching apps, and a bottom one for interacting with running programs and switching between virtual workspaces
