                                        4MRecover 11.1 Beta

From the creators of the 4MLinux distributions, as well as the 4MParted operating system, we’re introducing you to 4MRecover, an open source, portable and free distribution of Linux based on 4MLinux and built around the well-known PhotoRec file recovery tool.

It’s a minimal GNU/Linux distribution that only features the PhotoRec utility and the TestDisk software for recovering lost partitions. In addition, the Midnight Commander command-line two-pane file manager is also included in 4MRecover.
Distributed as a minimal, dual-arch Live CD

The 4MRecover operating system is distributed as a minimal, dual-arch Live CD ISO image that has approximately 30 MB in size and runs on 64-bit or 32-bit computers. The ISO image is hybrid, so you can write it on either CD and Mini CD discs or USB thumb drives.

These are called bootable mediums and are used for starting up the live operating system from the BIOS of a computer. A minimal boot prompt is provided on the Live CD, allowing users to run the OS with default display settings or with the VESA framebuffer.
Built around the PhotoRec/TestDisk software suite
